My career began in early childhood education, where I quickly discovered my passion for helping children and teachers thrive. Over the years, I transitioned from classroom teaching to roles as a mentor and coach, guiding educators in creating child-centered learning environments.
Through my work with programs such as CLASS observations, literacy coaching, and professional development training, I have supported teachers in strengthening their skills, building confidence, and enhancing outcomes for children. I am deeply committed to empowering educators, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that every child—whether monolingual or bilingual—has access to high-quality learning experiences from birth through age five.
This journey has shaped me into a leader who values mentorship, continuous growth, and advocacy for the early childhood workforce.

“I was starving, depressed, and I felt hopeless. I work for a childcare center that pays me $13.00 an hour, and I have four children. I was swindled into paying $10,000 for my Staff Credential. Then I found out it was not a real program. BCDI-GTB called the College, gave me food, got me enrolled into another program (for free), and helped me find a job that paid more based on my credentials. Childcare is quality-based on the zip code, and black children are being left behind. Thank you, BCDI-GTB, for fighting for equity in our community. BCDI-GTB is constantly advocating and fighting for JUSTICE.”
